Biographical Sketch Patrick William McDonough was born in San Francisco on February 20, 1888. He worked as a boilermaker from 1909 to 1913, when he became a foreman and began to study law. He was admitted to the California State Bar in 1917. In 1924 he founded the McDonough Steel Company in Oakland.
